Accountants for those ‘on the tools’
Accountants are mainly generalists. They work with take-aways, design agencies, window cleaners, electricians, mechanics and everyone else. Most are just like your GP. They know a little about a wide range but if you need serious help they simply refer you on to a specialist. Well, we are that specialist.
We are specialists for the construction industry working with general builders, electricians, plasterers, plumbing and heating engineers, structural engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, carpenters, roofers and window fitters. Many of our clients have specialised themselves to offer brilliant quality to the industry. We have specialist kitchen fitters for open plan living to rubber roofing specialists. Helping you recognise what you do best and how to market it is something we are more than used to doing.
Too busy for doing the accounts
We know what it’s like in the trade. Finding quality trades to work with and help you achieve top quality within budget isn’t easy. People don’t show up when they are meant to, mistakes get made and more problems than reasonable expected just appear out of nowhere. The last thing you need to do is sort your accounts! No worries. Having done this so many times we know where you are coming from. Trade accounts can be automatically linked to our accounting system reducing time and effort and improving accuracy. We can help you set-up stage payment billing with automatic direct debit collection too. Had to buy materials in a hurry and paid cash then popped the receipt in the van for it to disappear forever and you lose any chance of tax relief? Our system can mean a simple snap of your phone camera and it’s captured and tax savings applied.
You’ll just confuse me with stupid accountancy jargon!
It’s common! We don’t pretend accounts aren’t complicated, they are if that isn’t what you were trained to do. We couldn’t build a wall or repair a boiler, or fix a roof without consequences appearing later. The difference is we don’t need to understand what you have done for us for it to be worthwhile. You need to understand your accounts to a certain level so you know what is good or bad and what that means. We aren’t interested in using big words for the sake of it. We want you to understand as much as possible as we can then help you make things better. We have even gone as far as writing a guide to commonly used accountancy terms.
If you want to work with an accountant who won’t make you feel stupid, knows the stresses you go through and how to help make keeping accounting records less of a pain in the backside then simply get in touch.
