Many business owners start their business by simply trying to win as many customers as possible as quickly as they can.
Little thought is given towards who you want to work with but more just being able to pay the bills.

Cracks will start to appear as you need money to be able to deliver quickly with quality. The trick is you can only ever have two elements from the triangle.
Speed + Quality = Price must be higher to achieve this
Speed + Price = Quality must be dropped
Quality + Price = Speed must be let go
Once you have chosen the two elements you want to deliver you can start turning away the wrong type of customers as you know you cannot deliver. You then start to build a reputation on what you can deliver. You then know which of your existing customers suit you best and how to improve them into clients you can really deliver something of value to.
A strange thing will then start to happen. People will start referring you based on what you deliver even those you turned away as you weren’t right for them. They’ll remember you as people are not used to being told we don’t want your business. If you tell them why they will likely remember and then tell other people.
By saying no to those who are not right for you it opens up opportunity for you to say yes to the right people.
So figure out what values are important to you and then tell people no!
